Coming soon...

Well, it won't be long now.  Getting nervous about the whole thing, hoping I have picked the right pictures, hoping people like them, hoping people want to buy them....

Time will tell.

Anyway, here's your official invite  :o)

Hope to see you there

After this event, I am hoping to start working on some other arty stuff involving water, food colour, milk, etc...

It's coming together

I have had a busy day today.  I spend a few hours at Brooklyn Pottery organising my pictures.  I go from liking them to not thinking they're that good, to worrying about the size, to liking them again.... It's all so stressful!

Over-all though, I am pleased with what I have achieved so far, and here are a couple of pictures to give you a sneak peek at what I will be showing.

I have tried to arrange them into 'groups' according to photo type, so I have a few landscapes, a few floral pieces and a couple of smoke artwork...

Hopefully in a few months time (and if they let me), I'd like to do a showing of purely artwork, and step away from the more everyday work.  I'll see how this one goes first though....

Gallery date confirmed...

I am excited to announce that the date for the gallery launch has been agreed.

The date you need to put in your diary is Sunday the 29th July from 4pm.

The place is Brooklyn Pottery, 104 Shaw Heath, Stockport, SK2 6QS

The launch will incorporate the opening of the newly decorated garden space, thanks to the Prince's Trust, and of course the revealing of my artwork.

I believe the papers may be in attendance, to make sure you brush your hair  :o)

I now have to prepare the pictures I am going to show, and get them all in the frames ready for the big day

Nervous.... Hell yeah!

Clicking Again...

After a few months away from photography while my wife was pregnant and following the birth of our daughter, I am finding myself wanting to get back into the swing.

During my time away I really cut back on my outlay and have let go of my website, and other paid-for online services.  In the coming months, after a little re-branding and deciding on what I actually want to achieve from photography, I will be increasing my digital and personal presence.

The first big step for me was put into motion a few weeks ago, and I am honoured and excited to have been asked to display some of my work in a local pottery cafe, thanks to the lovely folks at Brooklyn Pottery on Shaw Heath in Stockport.  From our discussions, the plan is to get some of my work on the walls to show and sell (with a bit of luck!) and get the papers in to launch the collection, possibly with a few nibbles and a glass of wine to raise our collective profiles in the area.  It should be excellent!

I have been frantically trying to find some of my best (in my opinion) work and get it prepared to be printed, searching online for quality and (more importantly, at the moment) cheap printers and frame wholesalers.  I have been quite stressed about the whole thing really - just ask Cheryl...

I know this is something I am going to have to get used to if I want to get somewhere with my art, but as it's the first time for me I think I'm going to cut myself some slack.  I'm sure when it's all together everything will be just fine.

I don't have any definite dates for the showing just yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post them on here and probably on Twitter/Facebook too.
